St. Patrick's Day and St. Joseph's Day on the Lane

What a special day at Featherbed! We may not have caught a Leprechaun, but he definitely left behind some evidence that he was here—like a messy roommate who forgot to clean up after a party! Students arrived at Featherbed to find Leprechaun footprints all over the classroom floors, tables, chairs, and hallways. It looked like a tiny green-footed monster had gone wild! The Leprechaun left an enormous glitter trail behind, which is now officially classified as "glitter pollution," and he tripped over all the special Leprechaun traps students made. He even had the audacity to leave notes in the traps saying, "Nice Try!" Talk about a cheeky little guy! Students were in awe of all the evidence that the Leprechaun had left behind, and a few may have even considered launching a full-scale investigation—complete with tiny magnifying glasses!

We danced the day away with a special Irish Dance Party, where our moves were so impressive that even the Leprechaun might have been tempted to join in—if he could stop laughing long enough! We paraded down the lane to show off our green spirit wear, which made it look like a giant shamrock was marching down Featherbed! After dancing all our sillies out, students in Two Plus-Kindergarten enjoyed a special St. Patrick's Day lunch made by Chef Filomena! We LOVED our green shamrock pasta from Pastosa in Cranford with parmesan and butter—we're basically pasta connoisseurs now! And for dessert, we indulged in Shamrock cookies from Pinho's Bakery in Roselle, which were so good that even the Leprechaun would have traded his pot of gold for a few! What a day to remember!

We celebrated St. Joseph's Day on Wednesday with an incredible treat arranged by Ms. Gina, who must have a PhD in Dessertology! We indulged in the most amazing fried Oreos EVER—so delicious they should be illegal—and Zeppoles crafted by the Capizzi zeppole stand, which I'm convinced has a secret recipe involving magic and unicorns.

The kids were covered in powdery sugar goodness, looking like they had just survived a snowstorm in a donut factory! Honestly, we half expected our students to start building a sugar snowman. It was a sweet celebration, literally!
